ABOUT VALAIS
and the largest glacier in Europe (the Aletsch Glacier with a length of 22 kilometres) to the valley of the Rhone river with its vineyards. The landmark is undoubtedly the most famous and most photographed mountain, the Matterhorn.
Many villages in Valais still consist largely of centuries-old wooden houses, often in dark brown colour. There are over 8,000 kilometres of well-signposted hiking trails!
